Opioid Overdose and Suicide Loss in the

Behavioral Health Workforce

12-Hours


This training is facilitated live or virtually via Zoom.  Deb Rhoades, Best Practice Trainer, will deliver this 12-hour training. For Zoom trainings, participants must have access to both audio and video connection and must fully participate.


This Rhoades to Recovery Training is approved through 4/2024 by ASAP-NYCB for CRPA and CARC Continuing Education renewal hours and CARC Elective (Initial Certification). It is also approved by OASAS for CASAC, CPP and CPS Renewal Hours.  Social Work Continuing Education hours are available upon request.

2024 Training Schedule

This 12-hour training will address traumatic loss and its impact on the behavioral health workforce, including overdose and suicide statistics, risk factors, and risk management measures, prevention and postvention protocols; grief and loss topics, vicarious traumatization and burnout; and clinician/coach self-care.

 

Participants will:


  1. Increase their understanding and awareness of the impact of suicide and overdose on behavioral health staff.
  2. Increase knowledge of risk factors and risk for clients.
  3. Explore the prevalence of prevention and postvention protocols.
  4. Increase understanding of vicarious traumatization and burnout.
  5. Obtain strategies and resources for counselor/peer recovery professional self-care.
