Medication Supported Recovery

This training is facilitated live or virtually via Zoom. Deb Rhoades will deliver this 4-hour training. For Zoom trainings, participants must have access to both audio and video connection and must fully participate.
This Rhoades to Recovery Training is pending approval by ASAP-NYCB for CRPA and CARC Initial Certifications and Renewal CE's.
2024 Training Schedule
This 4-hour Medication Supported Recovery (MSR) training will provide Peer Recovery Professionals with the initial training requirement for the CRPA/CARC certification. Medication as a viable recovery pathway with demonstrated effectiveness. This training will explore personal bias, stigma and other barriers the peer may face while advocating and supporting someone who chooses MSR as a tool/pathway in their recovery.
Participants will:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the process of MSR as a multiple pathway option for those with Substance Use Disorders and obtain an overview of FDA approved medications that support recovery.
- Participants will identify two bias's they hold regarding MSR utilizing role play.
- Participants will practice exploring MSR as a viable option using the spirit of motivational interviewing, radical acceptance and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Participants will identify two ways that stigma may interfere with their ability to support MSR and identify two strategies for suspending personal beliefs in lieu of individual choice.
